Some recent activity

June 28, 2011, Eilidh Scammell

It’s been a busy year for AÀA, aside from our on-going work with Scotrail on the station names, core paths networks for the Forestry Commission and Highland Council and other similar projects, we’ve completed a list of street names in Partick for Glasgow City Council. These are now in the database with sound files to aid pronunciation. Thanks to Alasdair Mac Caluim and Mark Neilly of the Scottish Parliament for their help with the recordings.

We prepared a list of Gaelic names for the constituencies of Scotland just in time for May’s general election and these names will be uploaded to the database this month. The new Scottish Parliament Gaelic blog is well worth a visit, AÀA was featured recently. Blog Parlamaid Alba, the new Scottish Parliament Gaelic blog is well worth a visit. AÀA was featured recently.

Now that AÀA’s own blog is up and running again we’re looking forward to adding our observations, photos and thoughts. Watch this space!
