“[tam’nevri, tam’nevren] Pronounced Tam-nave-rie; by old people Tam-nave-rin: stressed on -nave-.. but the old name is still known as Tamnavrie or Tamnavrin. The latter sound, which is only used by the oldest people, confirms the interpretation of tom na h-Aifrinn, hillock of the Mass. This meaning was apparently know traditionally”: Alexander 1952, 386.
