Sources
Perhaps the most singular thing to be remarked in this connection is that in the east of Perthshire if any term for river or water is used along with the proper name it is always Uisge and never Abhainn; at all events we have never heard abhainn used in such cases in that district. The River Tay is spoken of either as Tatha simply or as Uisge Thatha: Robertson
Amhuinn Tatha: Dieckhoff [Glengarry dialect]
Uisge Tatha: MacFarlane, Gaelic School Dictionary
uisge tatha, ta’a, ushk ta: Diack, Inscriptions, 187
