Additional Information

On modern maps Stromeferry is a settlement. Moreover the burn flowing into it is Allt Port na Cloiche, perhaps the original name. Nearby is Meall an t-Srom; on other side of Loch Carron are from south-west to north-East: Stromemore, North Strome, Mid Strome, Stromemeanach. This is in origin a Norse word, and does not appear in Dwelly, but there is written evidence for it being used with the definite article.
