Simon Taylor JSNS1, 124-125: “…this form may be a translation of the Scottish Standard English form (in which more = muir or moor). It was known locally in Gaelic simply as An Sliabh, or as Sliabh na Sròine.”
The term above appears to be the most common. The Gaelic form mirrors the more explicit English name, as in the case of Kyle of Lochalsh above.
