Meallan Rairigidh 1881 OS 6”

Meall Gorm 1905 OS 6” 2nd edn

Meallan Rairigidh (O.S.M.) Is not known in Fannich.: Watson 1904, 168

Meallan Rairigidh seems to be called Meall Gorm, and the peak of Meall Gorm given by the SMC Guide seems to be that called Coileachan Beag by Campbell. Yet as, on arrival, I put in the lower ridge as Beag, which looks on to and guard the east end of the Lodge and forms one of the arms of Coire Riabhach… Possibly all the ridge from the middle point between Meallan Rairigidh and An Coileachan, marked by me as Meall Gorm, to the lower south-west ridge of An Coileachan is all known as Coileachan Beag. : Ronald Burn diary, 1915

This is near Loch Gorm [next to this is the confusing ‘Creag Dhubh a’ Gorm Locha’ ]. This appears to have been designated Meallan Rairigidh on the first OS 6” editions and corrected to Meall Gorm.
