This appears to be a new transferred name. It first appears on the OS 1899 1:25000 map,
first revision, it is absent from the first edition. RCAHMS has no records of this site ever having
a church. Informant WG was unaware of the Gaelic name of this place, and did not know of any
tradition of a church at this site. It is likely a be transferred from Kilbowie in Clydebank (NS495705),
for which the old forms are:
