Additional Information
The etymology deriving from duinnid ~ brown one, originally proposed by Watson, is problematic, as pointed out by Watson himself. He bases his derivation purely on the existence of Coire Dhuinnid, even though Inverinate Burn does not really flow through Choire Dhunnid. It seems more likely that the derivation reflects some other term.
Applied to Inverinate (east)~ Inbhir Ìonaid an Ear and Inverinate (west) ~ Inbhir Ìonaid an Iar.
