“[‘kine]. A stream, tributary of the Don. Pronounced officially Kindie, but in the dialect Kinnie. c. 1357, Glenkenety Ai. 1406, Glenkenedv in Mar A4. 15 n, Glenkindy RMS. 1535, Glen- kyndie A4. (In Gael. Glen King-ee—D.) North of Glenkindie a stream running the other way into Deveron has the same name and pronunciation, Kinnie. Probably this is the same name as occurs near Peterhead, Inverquinzie, pronounced Inner-kingie. Macdonald thought it might be the same as Cannie, but there are no data to show this.” Alexander, 309
