Additional Information
Gammeltoft, 113 repeats Forbes’ assertion but states that this is diffcult to ascertain. The dh- has been used here as opposed to -th- to more closely reflect the original ON word. Cleasby & Vigfusson show both eiðs- and eiða- as the genitive first element in place-names.
