This name was gathered as part of a local research project on the place-names of the Rough Bounds of Lochaber and was published in a booklet by SNH and AÀA. The Following quote appears in that booklet:
“At the end of Loch Eil there flw two rivers, Fionn Lighe and Dubh Lighe, though these are called locally Dubhailidh and Fionnailidh. There is a watershed here and on the other side the rivers feed Loch Shiel.”
