Additional Information

Watson’s derivation of critheann, ‘aspen’ would mean two nouns being placed side by side, a rare combination (see discussion of Brackletter).

The slenderised final syllable -aich represents the oblique form of this word. The emergence of the oblique form of the non-oblique form can arise in cases where the oblique is used more in speech

The hyphen is in accordance with GNLC principle 5a (forthcoming), since crìon can go before and after the noun it qualifies
