Additional Information
This is named after Partick Castle, a fortified house north of Meadowside, which was constructed c. 1600 and was at one time the country home of George Hutcheson, co-founder of Glasgow Hutcheson’s Hospital. Evidence of a castle appears on Ainsley’s 1796 map, but in ruins. The Castle was demolished in 1836.
