Sources
This name was gathered as part of a local research project on the place-names of Colonsay and Oronsay and was published in a booklet by SNH and AÀA. The Following quote appears in that booklet:
“In Kiloran, Avenue Cottage was known as Gob a’ Chlacharain ‘the point of the wheatear’, whilst the Keeper’s Cottage was also known as Cnoc Calanda ‘Calanda hill’ after the hill behind it.”
