This name was gathered as part of a local research project on the place-names of the Rough Bounds of Lochaber and was published in a booklet by SNH and AÀA. The Following quote appears in that booklet:
“Acherault or Achadh a’ Gharbh-Uillt `fild of the rough burn’ is a little township adjoining Tòrr a’ Bheithe (mentioned below) and was cleared of three tenants in 1843. There is a ruined house with an outhouse, on its own, to the left of the upper fild. It stands near a burn called An Garbh-Allt, ‘the rough burn’.”
