This name was gathered as part of a local research project on the place-names of the Rough Bounds of Lochaber and was published in a booklet by SNH and AÀA. The Following quote appears in that booklet:
“Looming over the visitor centre to the world famous Glenfinan Monument is Tòrr a’ Choit, ‘the hill of the coracle, or small boat’. Coit can mean a hut or bothy, but only when feminine, and it is masculine here. There is another Tòrr a’ Choit on Loch Shiel.”
